Impacto e recomendações do uso de desfibriladores na parada cardiorrespiratória por enfermeiros: revisão integrativa
Abstract
Objective: To analyze the impact, recommendations, and responsibilities regarding the use of defibrillators by nurses. Methodology: An integrative review was conducted using the BVS, PubMed, SciELO databases, and pages from the Ministry of Health and the Nursing Council. Inclusion criteria were applied with the descriptors "defibrillators," "role of nursing professionals," "cardiac arrest," and "cardiopulmonary resuscitation." Of the 244 publications identified, 19 were selected for analysis. Results: Training enhances nurses' confidence and performance in identifying shockable rhythms, but there is a lack of uniformity in practices. Continuous education is required for skill retention. Nurses are responsible for coordinating and performing defibrillator procedures, provided they are trained and follow appropriate protocols. Conclusion: Gaps remain in knowledge and skills related to the use of defibrillators by nurses. Institutional support is needed with clear and uniform procedures, along with ongoing evaluation of performance and retention of acquired skills.
