Abstract

The present work aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the Mastiplus Br® vaccine, in a modified dosage (higher than that described in the leaflet) and fewer administrations, applied to dairy cattle, in terms of reducing milk SCC. Eight dairy cows with subclinical mastitis were used, divided into two experimental groups. The Control Group animals received 10 ml of vaccine, with an interval of 14 days between vaccines (D0, D14, D28) and the Control Group animals received saline solution. The Mastiplus Br® vaccine was able to reduce SCC in dairy cows with subclinical mastitis by 35.23% and, given the promising results, a study with larger number of animals will be carried out.
