An analysis of the complexity of ENADE items according to revised Bloom's taxonomy criteria: contributions to the teaching of aesthetics
Abstract
The evaluation of Higher Education in Brazil has as one of its indicators the National Student Performance Examination (ENADE), which is established as a regulating indicator for the renewal of the recognition of Undergraduate courses and a benchmark for the quality of Brazilian education. The objective of this paper was to analyze 54 objective questions of specific component of ENADE 2016 and 2019 editions for the Higher Technology Course (HTC) in Aesthetics and Cosmetics, seeking to study its complexity by the Revised Bloom's Taxonomy (RBT). Exploratory descriptive study with analysis and classification of questions in the two-dimensional table proposed by RBT through the dimensions of cognitive processes and dimensions of knowledge. Most of the questions 44.5% (24) asked the student to understand the cognitive process followed by remembering 29.7% (16), applying 9.3% (5), analyzing 11% (6) and evaluating 5.5% (3). As for the dimension of knowledge, most questions assessed the dimension of effective knowledge 44.5% (24) followed by conceptual 35.2% (19) and procedural 20.3% (11). The results can contribute to the understanding of the classification of educational goals and instrumentalize the development of student learning plans and assessments focusing on the graduate's profile and skills and abilities indicated in the curriculum guidelines of technological graduation courses.
