About the Journal
Scope
Transitions (ISSN 2675-4398) is a peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, academic journal devoted to publish articles, above all, on the humanities and education. Our scope reaches accross the human and social sciences (sociology, history, literature, pedagogy, psychology, philosophy, law, anthropology, architecture, etc.) and we are interested in interdisciplinary researches committed to the development of those academic fields. We are also interested in the interfaces between the human and social sciences and other scientific fields. The editors invite submissions of theoretical, empirical and methodological articles and reviews from a wide range of disciplines. Categories of submission include peer reviewed articles, review-articles, interviews, case studies and book reviews.
Ethics and research integrity
The editors strive to maintain the highest standards of academic communication as well as editorial procedures against academic fraud. The journal also applies the current criteria of recommendation of the evaluation system of the Coordination of the Improvement of Higher Education Personel in Brazil (CAPES). We also follow the general criteria recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All research output is thoroughly peer reviewed by external reviewers and our editorial process is based on the double-blind peer review. Based on the reviewer reports, the editor-in-chief and the associate editors will decide to ask for revisions, accept or reject the submission.
Open access
Transitions is an open-access journal that offers unlimited access to its content. We provide immediately open access on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. The journal does not collect any fees from contributors or readers, nor charge authors for articles or reviews. We encourage authors to include their articles in any open repository or academic profile on the Internet.
