Feline injection site sarcoma
Abstract
This study aims to promote a literature review on the application of feline injection site sarcomas (FISS), and its first report occurred in 1991 in Pennsylvania and, from there, the issue has been highlighted in veterinary oncology, explained by the increase life expectancy and population increase in cats as pets, associated with the evolution of veterinary medicine and its applications to detect cell type involved through diagnostic tests in this way, prior knowledge about its pathogenesis along an attempt to Diagnostic or by fine needle aspiration cytology or by surgical excision and sending the material for histopathology, makes it to route a prognostic such as knowing the tumor is the first step to guarantee success to select a treatment, which is alluded to by chemotherapy, radiotherapy or even choice of surgical procedure to be performed, as well as safety margins to be taken, thus promoting the attempt to eradicate even the feline population and consequent prevention so there are no relapses.
