Animal welfare and environmental enrichment in raising dairy goats
Abstract
The population of goats and man`s interest in obtaining their products has been growing for decades and many of these animals are raised in confined system. Therefore, the objective of tje present work was to carry out a bibliographical survey inorder to analyze tje available literary data on welfate and environmental enrichment in dairy goats. It was found that all animal species have their needs that need to be met and, in addition, it is essential tjat tjese animals are under welfate conduct so that they produce properly. Animals out of welfare condition are subject to acquire diseases and have reduced production. There are many ways to provide animal welfare, including environmental enrichment. However, in the researched literature, there were few studies that presented information on the use of environmental enrichment in dairy goats, including those relating to milk production. Therefore, it is suggested that work in the area be carried out to obtain concrete data on the subject.
